Denise Cosby was born in Richmond, Virginia.  She received her Bachelors’ degree in Psychology from Virginia Union University in 1978.  Denise relocated to Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1988 where she still resides.  Denise worked in large corporate law firms in Boston including the renowned Ropes & Gray as a legal assistant in Boston for over twenty years.  Denise was a devoted mother of a son and a daughter.  Now she is the mother of one.  Denise’s youngest child was her son Justin Cosby (21) who was murdered in 2009 at Harvard University.  Since that time Denise has become an activist helping those who have also experienced catastrophic acts and murder in their families.  Denise now adds to list of talents – Author.  After 2 ½ years of court arraignments, trials and appearances to bring three defendants to justice for her sons murder, Denise has written a memoir giving an honest and in-depth story about her son’s murder – “Murder at Harvard University’s Kirkland House – A Mother’s Worst Nightmare” which she plans to have published soon.  Denise is also the author of www.survivingmurder1.com – a blog site with the intent to bind together families whom have lost loved ones to murder.  In 2016, Denise has accepted a position as a Board Member of “Purple Wishes Foundation” in Memory of Melissa Cowan who loss her life to domestic abuse.
